Contractor dashboard

Construction change order dashboard for contractors.

ScopeSnap's dashboard shows your active jobs, total change-order value, approvals still waiting on a client, and disputed changes. Open a project to review its change orders and the supporting field documentation.

The four numbers at the top of the dashboard

Each figure is totaled across all of your projects. Here is exactly what each one counts, so you read them correctly when you decide where to spend your day.

Active Projects

The number of your projects currently marked active. It is a count of jobs, not a dollar figure, so you can see how many jobs are currently active.

Total Change Value

The accumulated change-order value across your projects. This is the value of added work on paper. It is not collected revenue and does not mean the money has been paid.

Pending Approvals

Change orders waiting on a client response. These are sent and unanswered, which makes this the list to chase.

Disputed Items

Changes that need follow-up because a client disputed them. Open the change order, read the reason, and revise or re-send if needed.

Project cards: one job, one glance

Below the metrics, each active project gets its own card. A contractor running several remodels can scan the list and see which job has the largest change impact against its original contract, and which one has approvals hanging.

Click a card to open the project, where change orders are created and tracked.

  • Project and client names — So each job is recognizable at a glance.
  • Original contract value — The baseline before any added work.
  • Change impact — The accumulated value of that project's change orders.
  • Change-order count — How many change orders the job has produced.
  • Start date — When the project began.
  • Pending count — Shown when something on that job awaits a client.

From a field condition to a tracked change order

The dashboard numbers only move when change orders do. This is the path that feeds them.

  1. 1

    Open the project

Each project is one job site or contract. Start a New Change Order inside it and pick the reason, such as Unforeseen Condition or Client Request.

  2. 2

    Capture the evidence

Attach job-site photos, record a voice note that is transcribed automatically, and add plans if they help. Plans are optional.

  3. 3

    Review the AI draft

The AI drafts a scope summary and suggests labor hours. It does not set final costs. You check and edit every number before the change order is created.

  4. 4

    Send for client approval

Enter the client's email. They get a secure link to approve or dispute, with no ScopeSnap account required.

  5. 5

    Keep the record

Status moves through Draft, Pending, Approved, or Disputed. Approved orders can be exported as a dated PDF.

Client links and an audit trail

Your client opens a secure link and approves or disputes without signing up for anything. That keeps approval friction low on the client side while you keep the history.

A change order can include photos, a voice transcript, costs, and schedule impact alongside its status. Keep the supporting documentation and approval history together when you need to review what changed. With an active plan, approved orders export as a dated PDF for your files and accounting.

Questions contractors ask

Is Total Change Value the same as money collected?

No. It is the accumulated change-order value across your projects. It tracks added work, not payments received.

Does my client need an account?

No. Clients receive a secure link by email and can approve or dispute from their browser without creating a ScopeSnap account.

Does the AI set my prices?

No. It drafts the scope summary and suggests a labor hour estimate. You review and confirm every number before the change order is created.

What happens when a client disputes a change?

The status becomes Disputed and you receive an email alert. Review the client's reason, follow up, and revise and re-send if needed.

What if my subscription ends?

Projects and change orders are kept in read-only mode, and you can download a JSON data export. A paid plan is needed to create, edit, send, or export PDFs.

Can anyone view my account dashboard?

No. This public page explains the product without showing customer data. Your account dashboard requires sign-in and a verified email address.
